About The Douglas Sanctuary for Cats
Nestled away in the peaceful Norfolk countryside we provide a tranquil haven for country born cats, former street strays and Ferals. We are committed to providing sanctuary to these forgotten, abandoned or overlooked cats that the world has no time to care about.
Here cats have the space, peace and time to rehabilitate, heal or just enjoy a life with freedom from harm regardless of their temperament or health challenges. Supported by excellent veterinary care we work hard to help these special cats that have seen very little human kindness, encouraging them to trust, and bringing them back to health ready for re-homing, or simply providing them with sanctuary to live out their days in safety and peace.

How our Adoption Process Works
Here’s a quick summary of the process for Adopting a cat from our Sanctuary. More details can be found in the Adoption Section.
1. Apply to Adopt
To start an adoption application, you can complete our on-line adoption form. Alternatively, you can send an initial enquiry to us using the contact form on this page.
2. Chat & Home Check
We’ll get in touch to arrange a time to meet with you in person in your home so we can learn more about your requirements and the home you are able to offer a cat.
3. Meet the Cats
After a successful home visit we’ll invite you to meet the cats! You can spend as much time as you like and we are on hand to answer all of your questions.
4. Adoption & Support
We provide support to help you welcome your new cat home and provide Rescue Back Up so we are available to answer questions or address any concerns that you have.
